Good Friday

We had a nice Good Friday service this morning.  Pastor Mutetame is a very good preacher.  As usual, some of the younger boys rushed over to us to carry our chairs back home for us.  I did some planning for our teacher training day next week and then took the kickball outside and refereed a game for the kids.  Then Dave brought over the volleyball, so we played that until dinner time.  Tomorrow, Dave and Dee are taking us to Kafue, a game park nearby.  It’s still wet season, so the grass will be tall and green, which makes viewing animals difficult, but there will be a possibility to see elephants, cheetahs, buffalos, and lions.   This morning was windy and chilly, but the afternoon warmed up a little bit when the sun came out.  This cold streak is nice for running, but I do miss sitting outside in the heat.
The Malawian president died, which possibly means even more political unrest in the near future.  Malawi has suffered in the last year or so.  I’m not very educated on the topic, so I won’t pretend to be, but hearing about it makes me so thankful to have been born in a country with a stable government.  Sure, we complain about it all the time, but at least we don’t have to worry about coups or presidents turning into dictators.
I never thought I’d be spending Easter in Africa!  Tomorrow is our six-week mark.  Unbelievable.
